Perfect fit
The change from light to dark elements shows a clear visual orientation, providing a pleasant, horizontal alignment and a sense of structure. Light concave inner door sides support the tailored fit of the driver and front passenger seats, emphasising the modern appearance of the interior. Emblems with the "BMW ActiveHybrid 5" lettering indicate that this interior is part of an exceptional car tuned for efficiency and driving pleasure.
Driver orientation
The ergonomic concept of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is based entirely on the driver orientation typical for BMW. The centre console is slightly inclined toward the driver's cockpit. The controls of the comfort functions are located to the right of the steering wheel and can therefore be optimally operated by the driver and front passenger. Dynamic driving functions, such as Active Cruise Control, can be operated with the driver's left hand. Every control and display is ideally ergonomically positioned where the driver intuitively expects it to be. Look to the right and your eyes automatically fall on the Control Display. Integrated in the outside mirror is the Lane Departure Warning, which signals with a flashing light when necessary. The BMW Head-Up Display is positioned centrally in front of the driver. It projects the most important driving information, such as instructions from the navigation system, directly into the driver's field of view.
ADAPTIVE LED HEADLIGHTS.
The Adaptive LED Headlight includes Adaptive Headlight with variable urban and motorway light distribution, cornering light BMW Selective Beam (anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant) featuring automatic high-beam and low-beam headlight function. The system thus provides optimum road illumination in all conditions.
The moving headlamps allow you to see deep into corners in the dark as soon as you start turning the steering wheel. To improve short-range visibility, the cornering lights are automatically activated as soon as the turn indicator is switched on or the steering wheel is turned – even when the vehicle is at a standstill. The Adaptive Headlights ensure optimum illumination in every situation on the road, significantly increasing active safety.
The BMW Selective Beam (anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant) automatically turns the high-beam headlights on and off depending on the ambient light conditions and traffic situation, ensuring excellent visibility when driving at night. The system monitors the presence of vehicles driving ahead or oncoming traffic and continuously adjusts the high-beam headlights to avoid dazzling other road users.
AMBIENCE.
The unique atmosphere of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5 highlights one thing: absolute comfort and surroundings in which you can feel at home wherever you happen to be seated. The centre console is aligned towards the driver. All instruments and displays are exactly where one would intuitively look for them. With the optional BMW Head-Up Display, the driver even sees the most important information projected on the windscreen in his line of sight. A range of equipment is available to customise and refine the unmistakeable overall experience that is the interior of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5.
Light design
The special equipment ambient lighting provides gentle, stylish illumination. This underscores the luxurious ambience and also serves as a functional source of light, e.g. in the storage compartment of the centre console as well as in the door pockets and side lining. The colour switch function lets you create your preferred mood by giving you the choice between a bright white or muted orange light.
Multifunctional instrument display
The optional multifunctional instrument display stages the different driving experience modes with customised instrument displays – and thus creates worlds of colour and mood for more safety, efficiency and exemplary driver orientation. Navigation instructions and information from the driver assistance systems can now be registered even more easily at a glance. With these features, the new digital presentation distinctly increases the comfort, experience and safety of driving.
Bang & Olufsen high-end surround sound system
The BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is equipped with the innovative Bang & Olufsen high-end surround sound system. Supreme listening pleasure and a magnificent driving sensation merge into one unique experience. Sixteen active speakers with a total of 1,200 watts produce music in brilliant quality. Acoustic options can be selected: in ‘Studio’ mode, a clear sound emerges, while in ‘Expanded’ mode, the acoustic space appears enlarged, thus creating an incomparable surround-sound experience.
