DESIGN.
The exterior and interior design of the BMW Z4 Roadster.
Inside and out, the design of the BMW Z4 Roadster conveys a feeling of relaxed sportiness and individual aesthetics. Powerful features of the dynamic appearance include the BMW kidney grille in mesh design, the elegant roof and elements of the BMW Individual Shadow Line. The interior rounds off the coherent design concept with standard equipment such as the M Sport seats or the ambient lighting.

BMW kidney with mesh design.
The mesh design of the BMW kidney, which varies depending on the engine, contributes to the dynamic appearance. The basic model has a high-gloss black mesh grille, the Sport Line and M Sport package are made of matt aluminium, each with a kidney frame in chrome. The BMW kidney of the top model M40i is completely in Cerium Grey.
Air Breather.
Together with the air curtain in the front apron, the air breather positioned behind the front wheel arches significantly reduces air turbulence in the wheel arches and targeted channelling of the airflow - thus reducing drag. At the same time, they underline the athletic character of the vehicle as a decorative element.
Softtop.
The Black Softtop blends harmoniously into the dynamic lines of the vehicle. At the push of a button, it opens and closes electrically in approximaltey ten seconds, even while driving at speeds of up to 50 km/h. One of the outstanding properties of this extremely high-quality softtop is its excellent noise insulation.
BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line.
BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line with extended contents includes equipment features in black: kidney frame and BMW kidney in mesh design in black high-gloss and tailpipes in black chrome.
Exhaust tailpipes in free-form.
Round high-gloss chrome exhaust tailpipes on the right and left of the rear enhance the vehicle's sporty appearance.
Ambient Light.
Ambient light creates a relaxed, cosy lighting atmosphere in the interior. There are eleven predefined light designs available in six different colours, with contour and ambient lighting on the instrument panel, door trim and centre console.
Harman Kardon Surround Sound System.
The outstanding Harman Kardon Surround Sound System features a 408-watt digital amplifier, seven channels and twelve speakers. Its sophisticated sound perfectly fills the interior space. Vehicle-specific, speed-dependent equalising precisely compensates for any background driving noise.
M Sports seats for driver and front passenger.
The M sports seats with integrated headrests, deep seats and high seat and backrest bolsters offer the driver and front passenger improved support, even in fast turns. In addition, the seat can be adjusted to your individual body dimensions thanks to the integrated backrest width adjustment.

M sport differential.
The M sport differential optimises traction and driving stability when changing lanes or accelerating out of a bend, when taking bends at high speeds or on different road surfaces. Traction is optimised with the help of an electronically operated device that reduces the difference in revolution speed between the rear wheels.
M Sport brake.
The M Sport brake has four-piston fixed callipers at the front and single-piston floating callipers at the rear in blue with the M designation and features large brake discs to ensure an outstanding braking performance.
Adaptive M suspension.
The Adaptive M suspension can be electrically adjusted at any time to suit the road and driving conditions. Drivers can also adjust the suspension characteristics via the Driving Experience Control to enable their preferred driving style at the time – from comfortable to extremely athletic with markedly agile handling.
Variable sport steering.
The Variable sport steering with Servotronic creates a direct and agile steering response and ensures that less physical effort is required to turn the wheel. It reacts to the angle of the steering wheel with varying steering ratios. This improves handling when driving more dynamically and reduces the effort needed to steer when parking and turning.
Steptronic Sport transmission.
The 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with Launch Control allows sporty gear changes both automatically and manually via selector lever or paddle shifters – for comfortable gliding or a dynamic driving style. In SPORT or SPORT+ mode and with the gear lever in the left-hand S/M position, the gear shifts are configured for maximum performance.
BMW TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder petrol engine.
Superior power, silky smooth running and an inspiring sound characterise the BMW TwinPower Turbo 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder petrol engine from the new generation of the BMW EfficientDynamics engine family. With Double-VANOS, Valvetronic, High-Precision Injection and a TwinScroll turbocharger, it generates 250 kW (340 hp) and has an average combined fuel consumption rate of just 7.4 – 7.1 litres per 100 km.

Driving Assistant.
The safety package Driving Assistant includes the camera-based systems approach control warning and person warning with full city braking function, Speed Limit Assist incl. Speed Limit Info with No-overtaking indicator with preview and Lane Departure Warning. Additionally, the radar-based equipment includes Crossing traffic warning rear, Lane Change Warning and Rear collision warning.
Parking Assistant.
Parking Assistant makes parking the vehicle easier. The Rear View camera provides a clearer view behind the car. The Parking Assistant parks the vehicle automatically, parallel to the street. The reversing assistant supports you when reversing, e.g. in narrow lanes.
Active cruise control with Stop&Go function
Active cruise control with Stop&Go function maintains a pre-defined distance from the car ahead, including stopping and restarting in stop-and-go traffic. Speed Limit Assist allows the takeover of speed limits in the cruise control. The approach control warning with braking function reacts to stationary vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.
BMW Head-Up Display.
The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display projects information relevant to the journey directly into the driver's field of vision, thereby allowing them to fully concentrate on driving. Information such as the current speed and, depending on the equipment, navigation directions, Speed Limit Info including no-overtaking indicator, along with telephone and entertainment lists are displayed.
Intelligent Personal Assistant.

The innovative operating concept of the BMW operating system 7.0 enables even easier operation of vehicle functions via speech, touch screen and iDrive control - quite intuitively. For this purpose, the functionality of the Controller has been upgraded. For example, all digital services such as apps can now be selected directly.
Comfort access system.
Comfort access system allows keyless access to the vehicle via the driver and front passenger doors and starting the vehicle at the touch of a button while the key remains in the pocket. Besides, the Digital Key can be used on your smartphone for accessing and starting the vehicle.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
Display cluster of the BMW Live Cockpit Professional consists of a fully digital 10.25’’ instrument display and a high-resolution 10.25’’ control display with touch function. Two additional USB ports, a Bluetooth interface, FM radio and the audio streaming function are also included in the equipment package.
